Wugui Hall, the ancestral home of the people of Huangling, was constructed during the Qianlong reign of the Qing Dynasty. It was originally owned by Cao Yonghu and his son Cao Xili, who resided in Huangling from the Wanli to Chongzhen eras of the Ming Dynasty. The four generations above Cao Xili all have only one heir of the family. Renowned for their generosity, kindness, and accumulation of virtues, they left a lasting legacy. As time went on, Cao Xili had five sons, leading to the expansion of the Cao family in Huangling. This lineage has endured to the present day. During joyous occasions such as weddings, house construction, and funerals in the village, the words “Wugui Hall of Huangli” are solemnly inscribed on calligraphy, utensils, and other items, symbolizing the significance and reverence associated with this ancestral hall.
